About Us
Ms Emy Wilde, PACFA Reg. Certified Practising - 31535
I’m Emy, a counsellor with over five years of experience in mental health, disability, and community services. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered care, with a deep commitment to social equity and intersectionality. As a PACFA registered counsellor, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychological Science and Counselling from ACAP, I pride myself in using current and evidence-based approaches and undergoing regular clinical supervision to refine my practice and ensure the highest ethical standards are met.
I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, including those who have experienced trauma, IPV, AOD challenges, complex mental health conditions, and forensic involvement. I know that healing is not one-size-fits-all, so I tailor my support to meet you where you’re at, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
My passion for this work comes from both professional and personal experiences - I believe in the power of connection, community, advocacy, and small steps leading to meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating a difficult time, looking for support in making life changes, or simply seeking to understand yourself better, I’m here to walk alongside you.
When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me battling a Pilates reformer, on the tennis court, or rewatching Lord of the Rings for the 100th time with my four-legged companions.
Our Approach
At Wilde Minds, we believe that counselling should be as unique as you are. Everyone’s journey is different, so we take a holistic, personalised approach, integrating a range of evidence-based techniques to best support your needs. Instead of following a one-size-fits-all method, we draw from various counselling approaches to create a safe, supportive space for growth, healing, and self-discovery.
We use a variety of counselling methods to support you, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages mindfulness and acceptance to navigate challenges.
Narrative Therapy – Focuses on reshaping your personal story to empower you.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – Helps process and regulate emotions effectively.
Person-Centered Therapy – Ensures you feel heard, valued, and in control of your journey.
Mindfulness Therapy – Supports relaxation, self-awareness, and emotional balance.
Gestalt Therapy – Encourages present-moment awareness and self-reflection.
Strengths-Based Therapy – Builds on your personal strengths to foster resilience.
Psychoeducation – Provides knowledge and tools to help you understand and manage mental health challenges.
Each session is tailored to your unique circumstances, ensuring that the support you receive is practical, meaningful, and aligned with your personal goals.
